What happened to the OINP's streams in 2026?

Amendments to Ontario Regulation 422/17 came into force on June 25, 2026 and closed eight streams: Employer Job Offer Foreign Worker, In-Demand Skills, International Student, Master's Graduate, PhD Graduate, and the three Express Entry streams for Human Capital Priorities, French-Speaking Skilled Workers, and Skilled Trades. They are replaced by a single Ontario Workforce Priority stream.

Can I submit an OINP Expression of Interest right now?

Not yet. The Expression of Interest system closed to new submissions with the June 2026 redesign, and profiles registered under the former streams that had not produced an invitation are being withdrawn. Ontario says the new stream's Expression of Interest system launches later in summer 2026 without naming a date. The last invitation round under the old streams was April 30, 2026.

What are the Ontario Workforce Priority stream's pathways?

Three. The TEER 0 to 3 pathway needs a job offer, six months of consecutive experience (three for a recent Ontario graduate), CLB 5 to 6, and a post-secondary credential. The TEER 4 to 5 pathway needs a job offer, nine months of cumulative full-time paid experience in the position, CLB 4, and high-school equivalency. The self-employed physician pathway needs no job offer but requires CPSO registration and an OHIP billing number.

What does an OINP application cost?

$1,500 where the job offer sits outside the Greater Toronto Area, and $2,000 within it: the City of Toronto and the regions of Durham, Halton, Peel, and York. Self-employed physicians pay on the same split by practice location. Registering an Expression of Interest is free.

How long do I have after an OINP invitation?

You have 17 calendar days to submit your application and payment. Your employer has 14 calendar days to submit theirs, and you must register an Expression of Interest within 30 calendar days of the employer's submission.
