Which New Brunswick streams are open, and what changed in 2026?

The NB Skilled Worker stream (Experience, Graduates, and Priority Occupations pathways), NB Express Entry (Employment in New Brunswick and New Brunswick Interests), NB Strategic Initiative, and NB Business Immigration, plus the Critical Worker and Private Career College Graduate pilots and the Atlantic Immigration Program. Effective May 4, 2026, NB Experience invitations are limited to healthcare, education, and construction trades, citing limited remaining allocation.

Is there a points score for New Brunswick?

Not a ranking one. The Express Entry Stream Guide publishes a 100-point selection-factor grid and requires at least 67 of those points, but that is an eligibility test, not a score New Brunswick ranks candidates on. ImmigrationNB reviews Expressions of Interest against eligibility, labour market needs, and government priorities, and states plainly that meeting a stream's eligibility criteria does not guarantee an invitation. Expressions of Interest are not considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Do I need a New Brunswick job offer?

All three NB Skilled Worker pathways require a full-time, non-seasonal position with an eligible New Brunswick employer willing to support the application; NB Experience adds six months with that employer and six months of provincial residence. NB Express Entry is framed around current employment or a letter of interest rather than a new job offer, and the Atlantic Immigration Program requires an offer from a designated employer.

How long do I have after an invitation to apply?

20 calendar days to submit a complete application and pay the processing fee through the INB portal. Missing the window means starting again with a new Expression of Interest, with no guarantee it will be selected. Only one active application is permitted at a time.

What does a New Brunswick application cost?

Submitting an Expression of Interest is free. If you are invited, a non-refundable $250 processing fee is paid through the INB portal, with no additional charge for family members included in the application. An Expression of Interest stays in the pool for 365 days.
